Do I need to install anything?

No need to install anything. It all runs in the web browser both on desktop and mobile.

How do I move around in the virtual space?

Use the WASD keys on your keyboard or tap around on mobile.

Is my audio and video data stored?

No recordings of audio or video are stored. Our servers forward but don't persist audio/video data.

Can other people hear my conversations?

Audio and video is only shared between participants when they are next to each other. Spatial audio prevents eavesdropping — walls in the virtual space block sound just like in real life.

What are the fun features of flat.social?

From flying around to playing football and doing a frog dance, flat.social is packed with fun interactive features. You can also collaborate using whiteboards with sticky notes, images, drawings, and videos.

Do you support simultaneous screensharing?

Yes, multiple participants can screenshare at the same time.

How do I speak to all of the guests at once?

The experience is spatial by default — only people nearby will hear you. You can however use the loudspeaker feature to speak to everyone at once.
