My keys don't move my avatar. Why?

You are probably typing in a text box, or Quick Access, a full-screen activity, or a full-screen share is open. Close it or click on the room and try again.

No. Walking speed is fixed. For longer distances, try Go to a person or Teleport home in Quick Access.

Do shortcuts work on a non-QWERTY keyboard?

Reaction keys (Shift+1 to 6) use the physical number row, so they work on any layout. Movement letters follow your layout, so on AZERTY and similar keyboards the arrow keys are the easiest option.

Do shortcuts work on a phone?

No. On phones and tablets you tap and drag instead. See Phones and tablets.

Move with W A S D or the arrow keys, or click the floor to walk there. Press Enter to use whatever the prompt under your avatar offers, hold Shift for reactions, and press ⌘/Ctrl K to open Quick Access and search every action, including muting your mic.

Shortcuts pause while you're typing in a text box, and movement pauses while Quick Access, a full-screen activity, or a full-screen screen share is open. If a key doesn't respond, click back onto the room. You can also see the basics in the app: open Quick Access and run Keyboard shortcuts.

No shortcut for something? Search it

There are no dedicated keys for your mic and camera. Press ⌘/Ctrl+K and type "mic" or "camera" to run Toggle my microphone or Toggle my camera, or click the buttons in the call bar. See Quick Access.

Shortcuts in Conference rooms

Conference rooms have no avatar to move, so only ⌘/Ctrl+K, Esc, and the arrow keys for slides apply. Reactions, the torch, and movement keys are Open Spatial features.
