Can I undo deleting my account?

No. Deletion is permanent and erases your account and personal data, so make sure before you confirm.

What happens to my flats?

Flats only you are in are deleted with your account. Flats you own with other members must have those members removed (or the flat handed over) before you can delete.

I joined as a guest without an account

Guests who never created an account have no account to delete. Account deletion only applies to registered flat.social accounts.

How do I delete my flat.social account?

Open Settings from your dashboard, go to the Danger zone, and select Delete account. flat.social shows what will be removed, you type DELETE to confirm, and your account and personal data are erased for good. It cannot be undone.

This is permanent

Deleting your account erases your account and personal data, and it cannot be undone. Any flat that only you are in is permanently deleted along with it.

What gets deleted?

When you delete your account, flat.social first checks your flats and sorts them into two groups:

Flats only you are in are permanently deleted with your account.
Flats you own that have other members block deletion. You have to hand them over or empty them first, so other people do not lose their space without warning.

The delete dialog lists both groups before you confirm, so there are no surprises.

How to delete your account

Open Settings
In your dashboard, open Settings.

Go to the Danger zone
Scroll to the Danger zone section and select Delete account.

Review your flats
flat.social shows which flats will be deleted and whether any are blocked because they have other members.

Type DELETE
If nothing is blocking you, type DELETE in the confirmation box.

Confirm
Select "Delete my account". You are signed out and returned to the sign-in page.

Review the affected flats, then type DELETE to confirm.

Own flats with other members?

If you own flats that still have other members, deletion is blocked. Remove the other members (or hand the flat over) first, then come back and delete your account. You can manage members from the people list. See Moderation & bans and Privacy & access.
