What is the Insights dashboard on flat.social?

Insights is your flat's usage analytics: how many people came, when, which rooms they used, where they joined from, and whether they turned on cameras, mics, and screen shares. It is part of the Monthly plan. You find it in Settings → Insights, and you need to be the owner or have the View Insights permission.

Insights needs the Monthly plan

On the Free plan, and on a Free flat with a Day Pass, Insights shows a blurred sample with Unlock flat insights. The owner can click Upgrade to unlock; others are asked to contact the owner. See Monthly plan.

What Insights shows you

Insights answers the questions every organizer asks: did people show up, did they stay, and what did they do? It has three tabs.

  • Overview: six headline cards (unique visitors, visits, peak, total time, median visit, and sessions) with the change from the previous period; Activity over time; Who's coming (registered vs guests); Top rooms by visits and time; and Top locations by country.
  • Attendance: bounce rate, peak rooms, returning visitors, New vs returning, and a Busiest times heatmap (in UTC).
  • Engagement: Engaged vs passive visits and Feature adoption for camera, mic, and screen share, with how long people kept each on.

How to read the Insights dashboard

  1. 1
    Open Insights

    Go to Settings → Insights.

  2. 2
    Pick a time range

The dashboard starts on Last 30 days. Choose 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months; everything updates to that window.

  3. 3
    Adjust the grouping

Under the activity chart, use Group by (D, W, M, Y) to group by day, week, month, or year. Picking a new range resets it to a sensible default.

  4. 4
    Switch tabs

Move between Overview, Attendance, and Engagement.

  5. 5
    Export if you need to

Click Export CSV to download the activity data (visits, unique visitors, time, and messages per period) for your own reports.
